Incoming freshmen who are Platinum Presidential Scholarship recipients and enrolled in Oakland University’s Honors College have a new and exciting opportunity to apply for the Pescovitz Presidential Scholarship

Administered through The Honors College, this award, made possible by a gift from Oakland University President Dr. Ora Hirsch Pescovitz, provides selected incoming freshmen with a "top up" scholarship – giving successful applicants full tuition coverage for four years.

“This is an amazing scholarship created by our President,” said Honors College Dean Dr. Graeme Harper. “It emphasizes academic excellence with an ability to make a positive impact on our world. This is our most prestigious award, and recipients are competitive with any students in any major university in the world.”

Applicants are asked to submit a short description of their work with other people or for people (maximum 1,000 words). This could include assisting in a school project that positively impacts others, participating in or leading a community project, working with disadvantaged groups or helping in a local or national service organization.

Along with a full-tuition scholarship, Pescovitz Presidential Scholars receive four years of enhanced mentoring from faculty and the Dean of The Honors College. Throughout their time at Oakland, they are able to participate in unique co-curricular experiences designed to enhance their leadership, engagement or research profile, and to assist them to graduate in the top 5% of college graduates nationally, while also showing their abilities to help others.
